The Holy House is one of the main places of veneration of Mary and among the most important and visited Marian shrines of the Catholic Church. It consists of three walls which, according to ancient and authoritative tradition, are the front part of the cave in Nazareth where the Blessed Virgin Mary was born, lived, and received the Annunciation.

Devout tradition narrates that the translation of the Holy House from Nazareth to Loreto was the work of angels.
