"God speaks to Job out of the whirlwind"

There was a great and strong wind, so violent that it split mountains and shattered rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

After the earthquake there was fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.

The sound of the raging wind rests on destructive violence towards stones and towards the fuel of fire. It is the wind of judgment, but a wind of absence, of non-presence, of a chaos that makes the necessary readable.
